Sarie is an independent news publication with an unusual rule: it publishes only when the reporting produces material new understanding. When a story has not actually changed, Sarie stays quiet.
How an edition is made
Every piece begins by establishing that something is genuinely current, then reconstructing what actually happened from primary and original sources. Before forming any view, Sarie audits the strongest existing coverage and asks a single question: what would a careful reader still not understand after reading all of it?
Only if the research answers that question - a buried fact, an overlooked connection, a clearer explanation, a correction to the obvious reading - does an article get written. If a piece would only repeat what everyone already reported, it is not published.
Finite by design
There is no infinite feed. Each edition is complete: a lead story and a short briefing, edited to be read in one sitting. When you reach the end, you know enough for now.
It shows its work
Sarie publishes its sources and its reasoning. Claims are held to their evidence, competing explanations are represented fairly, and a less dramatic accurate conclusion is always preferred over a stronger one the evidence cannot support.
